Dr. Catsby's Whisker Relief Bowl is designed to avoid pushing a cat's whiskers back when the kitty is eating. Cats' whiskers contain sensitive nerve endings which help them navigate dark environments. For some cats, the repeated pushing back of the whiskers that can occur when eating from deeper, narrower bowls causes pain.
Some indications that your cat may suffer from whisker fatigue include:
- Pulling food out of the bowl with a paw to eat it from the ground.
- Messy eating, leaving food bits around the floor near the bowl.
- Aggression toward other pets or people in the home around mealtimes.
- Approaching the food bowl, acting hungry, but hesitating to eat.
- Refusing to eat the last bit of food in the bowl; demanding that it be kept full at all times.
The Whisker Relief Bowl is wide and shallow, allowing a cat to get to all of the food out without having the sides of the bowl push back uncomfortably on sensitive whiskers.
Other benefits of this special bowl include:
- Made of stainless steel, to protect against the development of bacteria and objectionable tastes and odors.
- Comes with a non-skid mat to keep the bowl firmly where you set it.
- Is attractive and stylish.
- Helps prevent feline acne.
Note: This bowls works best when feeding dry kibble.
For years, I had a painful problem, and I didn't know how to tell my human. Every time I tried to eat from my food bowl, its sides pushed my whiskers back. That really hurt, and over time, it got worse and worse. I did the best I could, usually pulling the food out of the bowl with my paw to eat it on the floor, but it was really making me grumpy. Then my human got me a Dr. Catsby's Whisker Relief Bowl. Aaahhh! Now I can eat directly from my bowl, get every morsel out, and not feel any whisker discomfort at all. I feel so much better.

I love these bowls. I have stainless platters I use for wet, but was using small ceramic for their kibble. Now I use these for the kibble and my kitties are no longer messy eaters. Also, I use to notice that they would sort of twist their heads a certain way and I wondered if the old bowls bothered their whiskers. I think they did and as soon as I saw these bowls I jumped on ordering them. Thank you!

I always wondered why all three of my cats only ate from the center of their bowls. I'd never heard of "whisker fatigue" before, but I'm now a believer in this ingenious design after watching my cats around this bowl. Now, not a single piece of dry cat food is ever left behind. As soon as everyone has grazed at their regular bowl, they all head to this one to polish off the remaining food (if he/she didn't get to the Dr. Catsby bowl first). Other than the Purrfect Post, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made for my furry friends.
MY RAW FOOD GOT A LITTLE MESSY

The bowl is nice quality stainless, but with raw meat the food just gets pushed up and over the sides. I use Radcat and my cat is 15 so that may be a factor too, it probably works better with wet food which is a little heavier and with kibble I would think it work perfectly.
perfect for dry food, diet, & preventing wastage

I have to have my cat on a special diet. I have to give a specific amount of food daily, but I found that with his old bowl pieces of the kibble would be stuck in the corner and he wouldn't eat them. So I would have to throw them out and start a new. And this is not cheap food.
This bowl's simple and ingenious design causes all the food to pool in the center of the bowl so it is more appealing for my big boy cat to eat.
Everything is cleaner and I nothing is wasted. This bowl is well worth it!
